A few quick words...

Ok so we've been in class for a week and a half now. It feels like it has been forever. Believe me when I say I'm keeping REALLLLLLL busy.

Classes seem cool. I'm not liking my geology class at all. Seriously, they are asking way to much work for a gen ed 1000 level class. I think my favorite will be calc 4 since I have the same teacher I had for calc 3 this summer. My biggest weakness is going to be ODE. I'm more worried about how long the teacher is going to keep us after the time class is supposed to be out. He holds us over about 5 minutes every day, which makes it hard for me to get to band practice on time. Physics lab is gonna be a breeze. Anyway, Hopefully this semester goes well, I've had a relatively good last two semesters, and I plan to keep it up.

Band is awesome as ever. I can't wait till Saturday. Everyone needs to watch the game and look for me. You know how they show the band sometimes right before/after they cut to commercials?... yeah watch then. HAHA.

Ok well it's late and I'm tired.

classes.

They start tomorrow. Well actually today. In about 7 hours. I should be getting to bed but I'm just stalling. I'm not ready to go back to classes. The last week has went by at 100 miles and hour.

Our apartment actually looks like people live here instead of people living out of boxes. I still need a set of drawers to put my clothes in and stuff on. Oh and my bed. I'm really sick of this air mattress, it has a hole in it so it slowly deflates as I'm sleeping and as the day goes by. I should take it back and get a different one. Seriously though I can't wait till Dad brings my bed down here.

Band has been fun the last few days. I got my uniform yesterday. Sweetness. I feel weird wearing red and white. I'm used to red and black. We got the entire pregame show set up out on the field. I'm an alternate so I won't be marching all pregames, which slightly sucks. Anyway when we are out making the OU on the field I am in front of the right upper corner person on the U. Pretty cool. We also got half of our first song out on the field. After the first few lines of music I am 12 steps from the front sideline. It's gonna be crazy to be up in front. I can't wait till our first game!

Anyway, I need to get to bed. 9:30 geology class in the morning! woo hoo. (in a sarcastic tone)

I MADE THE BAND!!

heck yeah man!!! I'm sooooooooo happy right now! Ok time to head to Catlett for practice.

The story of my life...

I screwed up real bad in marching audtions today. I'm sure that makes my chances of getting in the band next to none.

I don't know why I have such a deal with freaking out in front of judges. I don't have any problems being out in front of thousands of people on the field, the thought never crossed my mind in high school marching band at all. And there were a few thousand people in the stands. But yet I freak out when I'm standing in front of 4 judges. My mistake was not even a recurring mistake that I had in the routine, it was a total blank stupid mistake. I got the part that I was having problems with.

I'm still hopeful that I make the band, but I assume I'll live on if I don't.

I'll find out tonight at 6:30.

Finally.

No more dealing with University Commons. We are OUT OF THERE!!! The new apartment is awesome, if only we could find the mailboxes. Oh, and it would be even nicer if our freezer actually froze things and if the ceiling fan worked in the living room. Other than that it is great.

Living without the internet for a day and a half was horrible, and the neighbors wireless sucks in my room. We only have one cable outlet in our apartment so it looks like we are going to get wireless internet in our apartment. Right now my ethernet cable is running out my window down to the back porch and in the door to the router. Hey, it works.

We are still pretty much living out of boxes since moving in took all day yesterday. I had my first day of band camp today. Auditions went really well. A lot better than last year (I didn't run out of the room crying afterwards). I messed up in a few spots but overall I think I did well for me and I will live with that. Marching orientation went well also. I'm ready to put the marching routine with music tomorrow. I also met a lot of cool people today, I really hope I make band. Wish me luck on marching audtions on Thursday.

As for me now, I'm going to bed. I'm sore and tired. It was another long day.

One more day....

So for the last day basically I've been depressed probably as much as I was depressed when I was taking that crappy medication.

Moving/packing, money, band audtions, school starting, the competely white walls in my room, and a million other things have been bringing me down. Basically the last 15 days in August are going to be hell. But I know I will make it through as I always have when things got realllll crappy.

Like I said in my last post the new apartment is the only thing keeping me going. Speaking of which... tonight Amanda and I went to Starbucks and then went riding around for a few minutes. We ended up stopping by the new apartment. There was a light on in the kitchen so we went up to look in the window, after about a minute we started to walk away and an idea came through my head. I grabbed the door handle, turned the knob, and pushed. The door flew open. I nor Amanda was really expecting this. So, I shut it real quick and was like holy crap! We debated a few seconds on if we should go in or not. We decided to go find the mailboxes and laundry room. After that we went back up to the apartment, and went in. We stayed on the tiled floor since there was brand new carpet on the living room floor and stairs. That was kind of a crazy situation if you ask me. Amanda said that we should start moving our stuff in now. Haha, could you imagine if they came in there to finish the apartment tomorrow and someone had already moved in. That would have been awesome.

Anyway, I have Alison Krauss loaded up in napster and have been listing to her for the last hour or so. It really reminds me of a few summers ago when I listened to a lot of music like this. Kind of refreshing.

Long day ahead of me tomorrow, gotta get to bed.

Packing

I hate it. The only thing that keeps me packing is knowing I will not be here in a few days.

I can't wait til' Monday.

If you couldn't tell I came back to Oklahoma early. There were some apartment issues and also I thought that it would be better if I spaced my packing out over the course of a week instead of doing it all in a few days. Oh yeah I'm glad I came back because I've been packing pretty much 80% of all my awake hours the last 4 days. Not much is left and we still have two days left. Whew.

2 more days...

August 27, 2005 ~~PaRtY!!~~

Just thought I'd let people know that we are having an Apartment Warming party on the 27th at 7pm.

There's gonna be BBQ and all sorts of other food. If you wanna drink, bring your own stuff and be responsible, anyway, I don't really expect people that I don't know to show up so it's not like anyone I know to NOT be responsible. You'll have to call or instant message me for the address since I'm not going to post it for everyone in the internet world to see. (If you don't know my phone number my AIM screenname is stormchasernikki)

Our apartment may or may not have furniture by then, so if you have a lawn chair you should bring it! Plus we have this awesome field behind our apartment if anyone wants to play Frisbee or some other kinda game involving a large field. Oh and there's Frisbee golf back there too.

Anyway let me know if your gonna be there!

Oh and please don't feel like you have to bring a gift. This is not why we are having the party. We just want to let people know we moved and we don't want to sit around staring at each other on the Saturday night after classes started.

*** *** *** *** ***
Edit:

Oh yeah! Amanda's birthday is the 21st (I think, hey I suck at remebering birthday dates). So this is kinda her birthday party also. If you want to bring presents for that I'm sure she wouldn't care. So yeah, there will be cake too.

Sorry Amanda for not mentioning your birthday in the first post :) I'm a BIG failure arn't I. :)

Home

Things have been goin pretty well around here. The city band concert was cancelled tonight due to a thunderstorm in the area. It didn't hit here or anything just a few sprinkles. Oh well.

I got all my car stuff taken care of. Oil change, inspection, new tags. That's about all the excitement I've had since I've been home. Oh and I hung out with Lora all day Tuesday. Tomorrow, well today now, I have an eye doctors' appointment at 11am in Columbia. Then I'm spending the day with Mom.

I tore down my desk last night. I still need to tear down my futon and tv stand. I'm still unsure how I'm going to fit it all in my car, plus me and Raven. It's gonna be a fun trip back.

I thought all the apartment drama was over. Turns out it isn't. Once again they are saying that this guy is going to move into Amanda's room on the 11th. They told me at the office last week that he was going to a different apartment. I'm getting SICK of the office people. And once again I have to call them tomorrow. I can't wait till this is all OVER!!! Anyway, I hope I don't have to go back early to take care of this crap.

Ok well it is late and I have to be up early to drive to Columbia.

Happy August!!!

That means only 15 more days living in this place, 15 more days and I won't ever have to pick up after a roommate that won't pick up after themselves. I'm excited.

Oh and not to mention that I'm going to be spending most of those 15 days back in Missouri. Yeah, I'm leaving for home sometime tomorrow or Tuesday morning. At least in time to make it to city band practice Tues night.

I'm so excited about the new apartment. It's going to ROCK! We have the awesomest view out of our back porch... this gigantic field with a creek and a frisbee golf course. Not to mention our address is easy as ever to remember... the apartment number is the same as the street number of the complex. muhahahaha!

Once again I'm up late studying for finals. Thank goodness this is gonna be the last one till DECEMBER!!! I'm ready for summer break part 2.

Today was a crappy day, that's all I have to say. I didn't do much at all except feel crappy. Ugh.

Ok well I'm gonna go back over my metr notes and get some sleep before my test bright and early at 11:30. haha. Not really, bright and late morning is more like it I guess.
