A lot has happened in the past few days...

Current mood: enthralled

Ok, for starters. Friday just sucked. no more talk of it. Friday evening rocked though.

Saturday.
I went to bed at about 5 AM Saturday morning, knowing full well I was leaving to go chasing at 7:30 AM. I kind of slept in the car for about an hour, but I was extremely tired the entire day. I got a hold of some caffeine pills, which tied me over until I began to get car sick (which will come in to play later in the story). Anyway, while we were sitting around waiting for storm initiation, we wanted to get some wifi from a hotel somewhere. We spotted a Holiday Inn up the road and decided to go there. As we were driving up to the hotel, all I could say was "oh my god, there is the TIV." (Tornado Intercept Vehicle, for those of you that have no idea what I'm talking about) This thing was more ridiculous in real life than on that stupid show I watched a few years ago. Basically they try to drive this stupid looking car into a tornado. That is its only purpose. There was an entire Discovery Channel crew filiming them. They came over to get us to sign forms to say it was cool for us to be in the shots with it since we were taking pictures and they were filming us. (we were taking pictures and laughing at it). I refused to sign the form, because I don't want to have ANYTHING to do with the TIV. However, some of the people in our group were all about it. As if I wasn't already mad that it was there, they informed us that we could not follow them. (ok, seriously, wtf? First off, we DIDN'T want to follow them, and second, they can't tell us where to drive) So now I was pretty pissed about that, then this guy was telling us about the storm chaser girl with them. Apparently she is an actress from New York. It gets better… they had her wearing goggles, gloves, a purple rain coat, and a HELMET! What a disgrace to all female storm chasers.

Anyway, after storms started to pop up, we were chasing all around the Texas panhandle south of Amarillo which just seemed like a big mess. Storms were going up everywhere, but not in good places for us to get to. At some point in here, the TIV guys called to check and see if we had seen a tornado yet. (so apparently we can't follow them, but they can call us to see if we have found a tornado, (probably because they wanted to come take our tornado)) So at around 7 we decided we were going for this storm just to the south of us, noticing that the cell that just passed though Tulia, TX had a couple nice hooks on it. Before we got there we stopped and picked up some 3 inch diameter hail. Then some of our guys started hearing that Tulia needed help with finding people in the tornado damage. This is where the chase went for a turn for the worse.

I've seen my share of tornado damage, but nothing as bad as this so far. It sucked royally. Now here comes in the part where I had car sickness. On the way driving into Tulia I thought I was going to get sick. Once we drove up on the tornado damage, I about lost it. The smell of the gas that was leaking really got to me since I was already nauseous. Then they started dragging this piece of something across the highway while we were sitting there, I ran and got my MP3 player and blasted the music as loud as possible to where I couldn't hear the horrible sound of metal on concrete. After sitting there for about an hour I finally gathered my wits about me and was ok.

From about 11 PM until 3 AM we were at the Tulia Police Department helping out by answering the phones and stuff. Well, mostly Sara was answering the phones because for some reason she is really quick at answering phones. Those poor people, apparently before we got there, the phones were just going nuts. There was an interesting call that came through while we were in charge of the phones. Someone called in with a report of "some kind of green goo coming out of the ground that burned if you touched it." We all were confused. I was thinking maybe we had some X-Files stuff going on, and Skully and Mulder were going to come and tell us that aliens know how to control the weather or something. However, apparently these people were having a barbeque and it was a glowworm (you know those things you squeeze and its head lights up) that was melted.

So, 3:30 AM, we head back home for Norman. I'm seriously tired at this point, so I'm out within the first hour of driving. Next thing I know we are FREEZING at a Love's Truck stop and everyone in the car is asleep. I'm just like whatever, and go back to sleep. About 30 minutes later, we now have people who have food poisoning and are sick and throwing up. I'll spare the details (haha James). Anyway, I'm not sure what time it was once we left the Love's to head back home, but after a long and interesting ride back home, we arrived back in Norman at about 12:30 PM.

What a crazy trip.

Sunday and Monday.

Sleep and class. And trying to figure out exactly how bad the weather situation was going to be tomorrow.

Tuesday.

4:30 AM I wake up with the familiar tingling in my hand. I make a dash for my medication on my desk, knowing it was too late to take it, as I couldn't feel my hand as I was trying to open it up. 30 minutes later my body has ran it's weird tingly/pain/numbness course, now I'm just waiting for the migraine to set in. I slept through most of the weirdness and the beginning of the migraine, but when I woke up at about 8 AM, I wanted to stab my temple with a knife. My medication didn't do jack for me this time. I'm going to blame it on me getting hyped up on caffeine pills and getting off track a bit on my blood pressure medication on the storm chase Saturday/Sunday. But anyway, I was really upset because I was thinking that I wasn't going to get to go chasing on one of the best days of the year because of the freaking migraine. We didn't end up leaving until 1 PM, so by then, the pain was tolerable.

Once we finally figured out what the heck we were doing, we left Norman at about 3:30 PM to head up to Kansas. We made some good time, and got on the storm that was forming to the southern edge of this nice line on the dryline. We could see a funnel forming on the storm so we were excited! We got in place to view the storm right in time to view a anti-cyclonic tornado come down. A few minutes later we had the cyclonic tornado come down. The touchdowns were very brief, but they happened. We pretty much waited until the last minute to leave, which was incredible. (We were REALLY close. ) As we were leaving the road, we came across the TIV again. One of the guys that did an interview with some of our group members on Saturday was sitting in his car with the door open. I said "Oh look, there's our buddies" really sarcastically, and he heard me. Then he proceeded to say "Hey" to me as we drove off. Stupid TIV. I'm so sick of seeing that thing. Anyway, it was a another good chase day.

Beautiful storm structure!

And now I'm sick of typing…

Life is great, I really have no complaints right now.

not really sure what to call this post.

Current mood: annoyed

Ok, well, the last few days have been pretty crappy. I wish I knew why. I've been in this bad mood for no real reason that I can think of. I guess last weekend was pretty stressful, and drama always seems to creep up in different forms. I guess that's probably why.

I had fun in Stillwater last weekend at Southwest District Convention for Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi. That is until all the drama started happening. It amazes me how people can be so two-faced. Come on, let's grow up.

We had officer elections for Alpha Sigma Kappa Sunday. I got Vice President, I'm so excited! I'm extremely excited to be in charge of rush in the fall. *whee!*

Anyway, thought you would want a quick update. I'm gonna go watch V is for Vendetta, apparently I'm going to like this movie... we will see..

confusion/happy/stress/anger/whatev...

Current mood: discontent

It's been a crazy week/weekend.

I almost had a migraine tonight. I took my Relpax and it killed it within and hour and a half. I still had the same weird feelings through my arms and face that I absolutely despise, but my headache portion of my migraine was substantially mild. I'm still a bit sore in the neck/left temple, but the main thing here is I didn't have a full blown, knock me on the ass migraine!

I'm fairly sure it was caused by me running too much on the treadmill at the gym yesterday. I did 30 minutes total, with about a good scattered 10 minutes at a fairly good run. I guess I still need to take it slow.

I think I have motivation problems.

I want to do so much stuff, and I sometimes commit myself to things, and then I just don't want to do it. I think I have good ideas, but no motivation. I know I can do well in school, but I have no motivation. I go to class and either sit there and surf the internet half way paying attention, or think about how many minutes until I am free to leave. I'm really afraid that this is turning into a serious problem. I HAVE to do well in the fall. I need to graduate. I need to find motivation somewhere.

I feel like I'm drowning in a sea of a million things to do, and I just want to curl up and go back to sleep and forget it all.

I'm so happy right now, but I'm so stressed out, and I don't know why.

Oh, I also pierced my ears again, so now I have 3 "regular" ear piercings. That makes 4 holes in each ear now. I think after these heal I'm going to get my industrial in my right ear. I can't wait!

Tired.

Current mood: tired

I had a good day. I went to Wichita to see Erik and Tracy and their new house. Pretty nice. I want a house.

The drive was nice. Especially since Year Zero was leaked last night , so I had 6 hours of nothing but the road and Year Zero. (ok so for the last 2 hours of the trip I was listening to XM, I needed something not so end of the worldish)

I also had time to think during my drive. I'm really tired of feeling like someone is pissed at me ALL THE TIME. In fact, I'm SICK of it. I'm tired of people not standing up for their friends. All the sudden I'm the enemy and I don't know why!? All I'm saying is if there is no communication, things will never get better. I'm tired of thinking about it.

Otherwise. Life is great!

Best week ever!

Current mood: dorky

Happy April Fool's day. It's currently 11:28 PM and no one has fooled me yet. yay!

But seriously, I had an awesome time this week/weekend.

Wednesday kicked it off for the obvious reasons
Thursday was awesome just becasue I had nothing really to do except soak in the events of yesterday.
Friday was another storm chase, which really wasn't that great storm wise. Except the pretty rainbow and sunset.
(sidenote: I seen around 9 rainbows this week, 4 on Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday, and 3 on Friday, I guess thats pretty cool)
Saturday was Alpha Sigma Kappa retreat. Honestly, I didn't think I would like driving out to the middle of nowhere to stay for a night, but it was a lot of fun!

Speaking of wilderness... on retreat while we were walking around in the woods, we stumbled upon MOREL MUSHROOMS! Well some of my sisters did, and then came back to show me what they had found, (since we were walking around in the woods, I kept telling people to look for mushrooms) I got to eat one on Saturday night, and we went back this morning and I picked up another 5 and brought back. They were yummy!
