A Thousand Words or More...

Tonight was a lot of fun. We met up with some of the TBS and KKPsi people from the University of San Diego I think. Went to dinner and then walked around the Gaslight District. I got a rootbeer float from the Ghridelli *totally spelled wrong* ice cream place and a free piece of chocolate. I also got to see the Pacific ocean!!!! It almost ran us over a few times but, hey, at least I did get to see/touch it. I also got a tour of parts of San Diego from the TBS people. It was really fun.

Ok well I'm off to bed, we have a big parade tomorrow and a BIG game. Game starts at 5PM Pacific time. You should watch it!

After a little more than 30 hours in a bus and two bus breakdowns we made it to San Diego. Our bus was the first one to have a breakdown, a picture can be seen by clicking here. Our whole bus started smoking inside and smelling like burnt rubber. It was REALLY gross. We had to pull over and evacuate the bus on the side of the highway.

Anyway first thing when we got here we showered, ate breakfast, and practiced at Qualcomm stadium. That was really different. After that we went to play at the "Battle of the Bands 1" by the aircraft carrier Nemitz, over on the island, where we basically played songs back and forth with the Oregon Band. Then we went over back to the mainland and toured the aircraft carrier Midway.

Today I've been sick all day. I didn't even go to practice this morning they told me to go back to my room and get better. So for our day off I have been sleeping most of the day and throwing up salt water. I cannot stand the water out here. I started drinking bottled water and I am perfectly fine now. I guess I'm not going to get to see the ocean, just the bay that we saw yesterday, but I'll live.

I'm not sure what we are doing tonight, I need to find some t-shirts for people, only thing is we are staying in the uppity part of San Diego and there really isn't a place to buy Holiday Bowl shirts/stuff. I'll figure something out.

I got B's in both calculus 4 and differential equations. Still keepin' my gpa above a 3. WOO HOO!

Ok so this place is incredibly BORING. Going to California is gonna be nice. 4 more days till back to Oklahoma/leaving for Cali. WOO HOO. (OH and 4 more days till Christmas) Ok, I'm gonna watch some Family Guy now. I'm bored.

This was a crazy semester. I can't believe it's over already.

I only know 3 of my 5 grades so far, I have to wait till next Friday for my calc IV and differential equations grades. How is it the classes I want to know my grade in the most are always the ones that make you wait till they are posted through the university! Anyway...

I'm so happy I got a C in geology! I really thought that there was going to be a chance that I would have to retake this class. Ugh. No more geology for Nikki.

Anyway, I guess I'm coming home in a few days.

Once again, it's time for Finals.

My first final is at 8 am, less than 6 hours from now. It's geology. I'm hoping I pass this class. I'm serious. I've came to the conclusion my professor hates me, mostly because I'm a meteorology major. It is very apparent that he dislikes anyone who is associated with meteorology. Anyway, I'll be glad to get a D. Then I won't have to deal with geology EVER AGAIN!

Anyway, I hope everyone does well on their finals, and if you have already had your finals... you suck. :) Haha not really, I just can't wait till Friday.

Anyway, in other news:

We (the band) are going to San Diego to perform at the Holiday Bowl!! I'm finally excited about this. (hey it took a few days to sink in) Not to excited about having to hitch a plane ride on Christmas evening, oh and not getting back to Missouri until New Years' Day. But anyway, I get a free trip to San Diego! Oh and we get to go to THE San Diego Zoo... FOR FREE! Oh and check out our hotel we are staying in... This trip is gonna freaking rock! I seriously would have never thought back in 6th grade when I began learning how to play a clarinet, that it would actually take me places. Probably the best decision I've ever made. But I'll be home for a few days before Christmas, I don't really know when I'm coming home, but it will be somewhere between the 18th and the 23rd I assume. If I can get some people to convince me to come home earlier then I might, but I doubt that will happen.

Anyway, I'm off to sleep before my final. YAY.
